In May 2021, I took my first look at Orient’s premium line; aptly named ‘Orient Star’. The watch was a clear step above it’s more affordable cousins, with better finishing and a very attractive dial.
I was pleased to discover that the conservative dimensions provided the classy look that I was hoping for. While not the slimmest, due to the domed crystal, the watch still exuded an heir of quality and the handset was a particular highlight, with it’s half-frosting.
This is supposedly Orient Star’s best-selling piece and it’s no surprise. The Star Classic straddles that middle-ground between budget and luxury rather well and little features such as the power reserve meter let you know that you’re wearing something rather special.
In future, I would like to see a slimmer revision, to make the design even more sleek. That being said, the dial alone has kept this one in my collection, for usage on special events or occasions. The default bracelet is also impressive, though I’ve now switched it for a leather band.
