After testing the waters with the Oceanus OCW-T-150, I tried the far better-looking OCW-S100 a few months later. Hailing from Casio’s most premium analog range, the S100 offers class-leading case finishing, especially for a titanium timepiece.
While the dial isn’t as exuberant as the less expensive Lineage M100TSE, the Oceanus is certainly better constructed, with improved water performance and a more scratch-resistant coating. The high-polish bezel is a particular highlight, along with the impressive functionality; it’s unique hand and date wheel alignment features allow you to sidestep two of watchmaking’s most common QC errors. It’s radio-controlled movement also ensures precise timekeeping year-round.
The only notable downsize with this one is the proprietary fixed-end links, which restrict you to the included bracelet; despite it appearing like standard lugs. Thankfully, the bracelet is decent, but it’s a frustration nonetheless.
