Referred to by one customer as “probably the greatest watch ever made”, the Casio LCW-M100TSE-1AER was originally a Japanese domestic market (JDM) watch, which eventually found its way onto Amazon UK. That’s where I spotted it…I was instantly intrigued.
It’s turned out to be one of my very favourites. Not only is the dial much more gorgeous than in the terrible stock images, but the lightweight construction makes this incredibly comfortable on-wrist. The digital portion helps you access a variety of features offered by this watch, including atomic clock syncing, world time, a stopwatch, LED backlight and more.
The cherry on top is the ‘Tough Solar’ technology, which is Casio’s solar-powered equivalent of Citizen’s Eco-drive. This means battery changes are effectively a non-issue for the lifetime of the watch. It recharges quickly in sunlight and lasts several months off a single full charge.
A combination of form and function has made this one of my go-to watches; it’s only downsides being the mediocre case and hand finishing.
